Kersti Kaljulaid is the first Estonian head of state who visited King George Island and participated in commemorations for the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica.
Estonia is a digital nation and President Kaljulaid is used to be online anytime she needs to. In Antarctica there are no terrestrial networks which can offer data connections.
To enable President Kaljulaid to continue her work as usual the office of the President of Estonia decided to use a satellite connection based on the Iridium Certus service and the Thales Mission Link 350 Hardware.
For their expedition to King George Island they needed a ruggedized and portable solution for the Thales Mission Link 350. That’s the reason why the office of the President of Estonia reached out to CPN Satellite Services GmbH. We’ve developed the CPN EVERY Mission Link 350 to offer critical global communication.
The CPN EVERY Mission Link 350 is a battery operated, ruggedized and portable Peli Case solution and works anywhere in the world, even in the coolest regions like Antarctica
Thanks to the CPN EVERY Mission Link 350 President Kaljulaid was able to digitally sign and send important documents to Estonia whilst in Antarctica.
We remain true to our vision: enabling communication, wherever you go. No matter when, no matter where!
